Man Cries God Smiles

We are born crying. Life begins with a cry. And we keep crying throughout our lives. Do you see God smiling down at you when you snivel? He looks at you, observes you intently and smiles indeed.

Some cry because they don’t have branded clothes others cry because they don’t have enough clothes to keep themselves warm. Some cry over their failure others cry for not having an opportunity. Some cry because they are married others cry over their single status. Talk about who is not crying, we are all crying and complaining.

Did you want to major in literature but ended up pursuing engineering? Did you want to become a Doctor but became Sales Manager at the end? Did you want to marry your High School sweet heart but ended up marrying your secretary? This happens in most of our lives in different ways. We doubt if this is God’s ‘perfect will’ and cry over where we have ended.

Did you ever have a moment of “I knew God was saying no but I didn’t pay attention to Him”? Did you ever sit down sobbing and remembering the words of caution your family and friends gave you? Did you try to sideline the small task God gave you and ended up doing bigger task?
That is exactly when God looks at you and smiles. He smiles at your stubbornness and irritation. He smiles when you try to shortcut, bypass and ward off. He smiles at your cleverness. He smiles at your shortsightedness.

Let’s face it; you are in God’s ‘perfect will’. God knows exactly what is required and needed for you. He sees beyond your one situation. He knows what you have gone through in the past and He knows what is kept for you in the future. He knows the perfect shape in which He is shaping you right now. While we make plans for a month or a year God is writing story of our entire life. A story filled with His grace, mercy, and glory. Next time you see God smiling at you, throw away your frustrations and tantrums and smile back at him.
Continuing with that attitude here is a verse you can meditate

upon: Psalm 131
My heart is not proud, O LORD,
my eyes are not haughty;
I do not concern myself with great matters
or things too wonderful for me.

But I have stilled and quieted my soul;
like a weaned child with its mother,
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel put your hope in the LORD
both now and forevermore.
