The true way of living
Ezekiel chapter 18 : “Repent, turn away from your ways and you will live.”
The word live, in the Bible does not mean just “existing” Human beings mostly forget what is their vocation, what is their call and the purpose that God has placed us on this earth and so often we live our lives as animals where we are just existing but we are not living. The word “live”, in the Bible means “Relationship with God” or ‘fellowship with God” or “Union with God”. Many times when we are separated from this relationship with God, we began to suffer many problems in our lives, in our bodies, in our emotions, in our spiritual life, in our relationship with people and also with God. Many of us Christians are so defeated and so frustrated in life. We are so confused in life. God has called you and me, not to be a victim but to become a victor.
St. Paul speaks to the Church in Philippians chapter 3 verse 18, 19 and 20
“I have told you this many times before, and now I repeat it with tears: there are many whose lives make them enemies of Christ’s death on the cross. They are going to end up in hell, because their god is their bodily desires. They are proud of what they should be ashamed of and they think only of things that belong to this world. We however, are citizens of heaven and we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come from heaven.”
If you try to read the life of most of the saints in the church, the holiest of saints, it is so easy to say that they are so holy but actually they are quiet humble enough to accept the fact that they were also tempted so often by the enemy. That’s why they lived such strict life of mortification and holiness commitment to God. The closer we come to God, the greater the human nature wants to take us away from God. Never blame the devil and say that the devil led me. Now, many of us are enticed by the devil through the things that are happening in the world. We have those worldly desires rooted in our human nature. That’s why there is a spiritual warfare that is always going on.
Remember one thing. Satan attacks us from outside. He can only attack us from outside, provided our inside is unclean. If our inside is clean, he can never attack us. If our inside is clean, he can never attack us. Even though he attacks us and tries to reduces us and entice us, satan will never win the victory over our souls. If we want the Lord to bless us, we need to bring the change in our selves, however bad our family members or neighbors may be. God says that we need to change first. We need to forgive. We need to let go. We have to willingly to put to death our human nature. Our self, our ego has to be crucified and then you can come with a heart with full of assurance and faith that the Lord will bless you and heal you. You will see miracles being manifested in your life.
